About Jan Wilson
ABOUT JAN WILSON, L.Ac., M.Ac., Dipl.Ac.
For 21 years, Jan was a small business owner and mother of two in Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. After she was injured in a car accident, she completed the traditional western therapies, but her sister sensed that something was “not quite right” and urged Jan to visit a Chinese medical practitioner. After that session, Jan was surprised to feel completely comfortable in her body again. She was hooked and felt compelled to become an acupuncturist. She spent ten years preparing and training to practice acupuncture and, in 2013, she opened Chestnut Hill Family Acupuncture.
Jan began training in medical Qi Gong with Master Faxiang Hou in 1996. She continues to keep up a daily Qi Gong practice.
Jan earned her master’s degree in acupuncture at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA. She completed an externship in Nanjing, China, at the University of Nanjing’s Traditional Chinese Medical College and participated in clinical rotations at the Jiangsu Province Hospital under the direction of Wang Yinping, PhD.
Jan is registered to practice acupuncture by the Pennsylvania State Medical Board. She is certified as a Diplomat of Acupuncture by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is on the board of the Association of Professional Acupuncturists in Pennsylvania (APA).
At CHFA, Jan combines her experience in nutrition, Qi Gong, Chinese medicine and acupuncture to help her clients find relief from pain and illness and to live more healthy lives.
